About this volunteering opportunity

Reception Volunteers are responsible doe manning the Reception Desk, assisting with some admin. They are the first point of contact for visitors to The Sussex Beacon and for telephone enquires.







About this organisation

The Sussex Beacon provides specialist care and support for people living with HIV. Our services promote independence and improve health and wellbeing by providing inpatient and outpatient services.
Our services are run from our centre in Brighton where we have a 10-bed inpatient unit, therapy rooms and larger rooms for group work.

Induction, training and support offered with this opportunity

We offer 3 sessions of probationary induction training for all Reception volunteers which take place over a period of 3 weeks.
The induction will take place on Reception where you will be supported by another Volunteer Receptionist..
The induction will also include Health & Safety and Fire Drill.

Skills or experience needed for this opportunity

You will need to have the following skills:- Excellent communication skills, face to face and on the telephone,
Ability to work with people from different backgrounds.
Ability to work alone or as part of a team.
Ability to use Microsoft word.
Be non judgemental and honest.
Friendly to al visitors.
Committed to ongoing personal development and able to ask for help when needed.
