Fruit growing and organic gardening with Stanmer Organic Fruits

Physical and practical outdoor gardening work.

About this organisation

A fruit plot renovation project. Clearing the overgrowth we will grow and tend existing fruit plants and trees by organic methods. At harvest time we will pick and eat the fruit. In the autumn and spring we will prune and take cuttings and add new plants. We will grow some veg too. Open Sun 11-3 during the colder months, and Weds 10-5 Jun-Sep. If you like the outdoors or want to see if you do, or are interested in local growing, or think you might like to be.

Induction, training and support offered with this opportunity

Opportunity to learn about organic gardening through the seasons when growing fruit and vegetables. Introduction to Stanmer Organics as a whole, Stanmer Fruit plot site introduction and plans. Health and safety expectations and responsibilities. Cups of tea.

Skills or experience needed for this opportunity

Willingness to be outside for many possibly many hours at at a time, and cope with changeable weather. Fairly physically able though tasks can be tailored. Desire to learn. An enjoyment of getting your hands dirty.
