Driver for therapeutic singing group for older people with Sing For Better Health

About this volunteering opportunity

Driving: picking up an older person from their home, driving them to one of our singing groups - which run for 1 1/2 hours - and dropping them off at their home  again.

About this organisation

We run six singing groups per week. They are for older people, and those with long-term health problems (e.g. breathing difficulties, Parkinson’s, Depression, Altzheimer’s, MS, Stroke, Heart conditions, Cancer, mental health problems etc.)
Their aim is to improve health and wellbeing, using a combination of relaxation/ stretching/breathing exercises, and singing songs together. We want to support people with long-term health problems cope better with daily life, help to prevent illnesses, physi

We are happy to talk to our volunteers, to give them support if needed.

Skills or experience needed for this opportunity

Driving license, car. Patience with older people.
