About this volunteering opportunity

We are looking for a Finance Volunteer/Book Keeper to help support our small and busy charity.

As the Finance volunteer, you will be part of a small team in a friendly office. You will be providing financial administrative support to our Centre Manager on a regular basis.

Key tasks we require help with (training will be provided):

Data entry into accounting software
Summarising data into Excel documents
Monitor the quality of entered data.
Assist with filing, archiving and other administrative tasks.
Provide additional support to the fundraising and admin teams when needed.
Replying to emails sent from external parties

Hours

To be agreed with the volunteer, depending on their availability, but usual need will be a couple of hours per week.

About this organisation

We are a member-led small charity that supports people living with Multiple Sclerosis by offering Treatments, Complimentary Therapies, Social Activities, and volunteering opportunities.

Our friendly team welcome people from all across Sussex at our Centre in Southwick.

Induction, training and support offered with this opportunity

We will provide the volunteer with a variety of training opportunities so that they can carry out their duties effectively.

Training will also be provided in the use of our accounting systems, and administrative processes.

You will be supported by the Centre Manager, and the Treasurer, as well as the rest of the Board of Trustees

You will also gain first-hand experience of working for a small charity, and get a chance to develop your skills whilst contributing to a good cause.

Skills or experience needed for this opportunity

Experience we are hoping for:

Some administrative and/or finance experience.
Excellent attention to detail.
Comfortable in the use of Microsoft Office, especially Excel
Initiative and the ability to work independently.
A positive attitude to working as part of a small team.

Desirable:
Have experience in using Kashflow accounting software as we will be using this from January 2019.
