About this volunteering opportunity

This is an exciting opportunity to be part of the Moneyworks project at the Whitehawk Inn. Your duties will include:

  • Undertake research and access on-line information in order to help with the development of Moneyworks advisor resources
  • Order supplies and produce, print and collate advisor resources & display materials
  • Support Moneyworks adviser to prepare and deliver informal workshops related to a range of money related topics
  • Offer informal financial and digital inclusion IAG as part of Moneyworks drop-in sessions
  • Complete relevant training to develop skills and knowledge for the role

About this organisation

We are a community led organisation in Brighton providing information and advice about learning and work, and a range of support activities for adults. For those who are looking to go back to work we offer careers advice, employment support and a range of tailored resources.

Induction, training and support offered with this opportunity

You will be provided with a full induction and copies of relevant policies and procedures. You will be given a full tour of the Whitehawk Inn as well as working alongside our Moneyworks Adviser.

Further training is part of this role and we like to give staff and volunteers the opportunity to develop themselves.

Skills or experience needed for this opportunity

Essential Skills & Experience

  • Effective communication skills: face to face, written & on phone
  • Ability to listen and accurately disseminate information
  • Good IT skills for online researching, producing printed resources/ materials, data inputting to spreadsheets, using email
  • Ability to work in a team
  • Evidence of understanding of, and commitment to, Equal Opportunities
  • Understanding/ experience of, and commitment to supporting people with multiple barriers to learning and work
  • Experience of interacting with the general public and/or supporting people in a care, advice and/or learning environment
