About this volunteering opportunity

Person / people needed with some time to spare who are interested in helping to coordinate this community-growing site.   We are looking for people with a range of skills or just enthusiasm to get this project off the ground. 

If you would also like a bit of land to get growing on you can either volunteer to grow food on the community plot or have your own sub-plot of the site.

The site is near the bus station in Whitehawk and therefore is easily accessible to people who live in Whitehawk, Bristol Estate, Kemptown and the Marina or even further afield.

The site could be run as a community growing project and coordinated by a community group or it could be sub-divided into individual allotments.


About this organisation

Henfield close garden is a currently disused space in South Whitehawk which has been leased to the local community to start a food-growing project. The site contains 200 square metres of available growing area. The site is bordered by a wall and surrounded by housing, has a locked gate and bench to sit on.

Induction, training and support offered with this opportunity

Volunteers will have the autonomy to shape the project as part of a wider team

Skills or experience needed for this opportunity

Ideally some level of project / volunteer coordination but more importantly some basic growing knowledge and bags of enthusiasm.
