About this volunteering opportunity

We have identified the need for a volunteer Chair of Trustees to join our board. We are seeking a new Chair of Trustees to help drive the charity forward and extend its reach. 
 
Time commitment: Full Board meetings are generally held bi?monthly. Meetings are in the evenings and have a purposeful but relaxed feel, they last a couple of hours. The Trustees also communicate by email on pressing issues.
 
We are particularly keen to achieve a more diverse board of trustees, and we welcome applications from all sections of the community. 
 
The role is voluntary and unpaid. 

 

About this organisation

The Crew Club is a community led charity that provides opportunities for children and young people; enabling them to take part in a wide range of activities in one of the most deprived areas of the City from our purpose built, state of the art youth centre with outdoor sports facilities.

Induction, training and support offered with this opportunity

Successful candidates will be invited to observe a board meeting and will be given an induction before starting the role.
 

Skills or experience needed for this opportunity

You will provide leadership and direction to the board and actively contribute in giving firm strategic direction, agreeing policies, fundraising and defining goals.
 
As Chair you will help direct the Crew Club towards achieving its mission and ensure the organisation is effectively managed. You would need to be able to make a commitment to the Crew Club and devote the necessary time; have strategic vision, independent judgement, an ability to think creatively and a willingness to speak your mind. 
 
The successful applicant will have a proven leadership background and have held a senior management position within an organisation.
