Use of Community Base during 2007

• 156,797 people were offered help or support by groups at Community Base in 2007

• 9,724 people came into Community Base to get help or support from groups at Community Base in 2007

• 54% of people coming into Community Base in 2007 to get help or support from groups belonged to black or minority ethnic communities

• On top of this, Community Base reception offered help to 2,842 people in 2007

• 404 people carried out voluntary work at Community Base in 2007

• Groups at Community Base had a joint annual income of nearly £10,000,000 in 2007

• 210 people were employed at Community Base in 2007, averaging 29.2 hours a week

• Between 2003 and 2007 Community Base reduced its energy use by 8%.

In January 2008 we carried out a survey into the use of Brighton and Hove volunteer search showing that over 70 people started volunteering with local community or voluntary groups as a result of this service during its first six months.
