Sylvia Alexander-Vine, the chairperson of our board of trustees, is a retired teacher and theatre company director/administrator. Sylvia is a member of the management committee of the Carers Centre, a trustee of Sussex Interpreting Services, chairperson of the West Hill Community Association, editor of The Whistler and a school governor
Sarah Bourne is coordinator of Brighton and Hove Millenium Volunteers
Ros Cook is assistant director of Amaze
Bob Cristofoli, our treasurer, is a retired retailer and past mayor of Brighton. Bob is on the management committee of Brighton and Hove Victim Support, chair of Brighton and Hove Independent Mediation Service and a governor of Dorothy Stringer School
Paul Evans is director of the NHS Support Federation
Jane Frost is a founding member of Assert
Tina Harrison is awareness officer for TB Alert
Lucy Stone is regional coordinator for Rhythmix.
Advisers to the Community Base board of trustees
Colin Wibley, a partner at Edward-Harte Solicitors, advises the board on legal matters
Graham Shorter of Clark Brownscombe, chartered accountants and registered auditors, advises the board on financial matters
Edward Flude BSc FRICS, chartered surveyor, commercial property adviser, and managing director of Flude Commercial advises the board on property management.
Community Base staff
Colin Chalmers, our director, has been manager or director of Community Base since 1997. Colin has a postgraduate qualification in social work and a background in child protection, journalism and project management and development
Annette Moss has been Community Base’s building manager since 2003. Annette has extensive experience of building maintenance in the private and voluntary sector including the supervision of large refurbishment projects
Deborah Sprackling has been Community Base’s receptionist/administrator since 2006. Deborah has a background in sales, market research, business administration and training with a number of companies both locally and abroad.
Locum staff are employed to cover staff holidays and sickness and for particular tasks.
