Flu pandemics
If you think you have swine flu you can contact the National Pandemic Flu Service (phone 0800 1 513 000) to have your symptoms assessed. If you are assessed as requiring antivirals you will be given a unique access number and told where the nearest collection point is (in Brighton and Hove this is at Hove Town Hall, 8am-8pm seven days a week), and then told to arrange for a 'flu friend' to go and pick up your medication. Flu friends will need to show a form of ID for the patient they are collecting for and one to prove their own identity.
If you want general advice about swine flu you can call the Swine Flu Information Line on 0800 1 513 513 or read the latest advice on swine flu from the NHS.
The NHS has also published a pamphlet Important information about swine flu.
The government has published a pamphlet Pandemic influenza: supplementary information for third sector organisations.
