Citizens Advice are expanding their management team due to a developing and growing service that’s responding to ever greater demands in the city for advice. We’re busier than ever, having seen a 15% increase in clients last year, we’ve taken on more volunteers, added an extra day of opening, and with more growth to come we need a larger management team to ensure the quality of advice remains high. We are seeking an experienced advice manager to manage and support a team of caseworkers.

The Casework and Projects Manager leads the team of specialist caseworkers
who provide detailed advice and ongoing casework on specific subjects related
to benefits and debt advice. Responsible for line management and supervision
of the caseworkers the manager needs in-depth, specialist knowledge of benefit
and debt casework in order to properly support the caseworkers to deliver the
best results for their clients.

The ideal candidate will have experience monitoring project performance
against targets, supporting and training staff, and analysing casefiles for review
and compliance with regulations. A thorough understanding of debt and
benefits systems is essential, as will be ongoing professional development to
ensure knowledge is kept up to date. Citizens Advice is supported nationally by
quality assurance teams located around the country, and working with them to
identify gaps in best practice and implement changes to workflows and training
to ensure the best result for the client is essential, so demonstrating an open and collaborative approach to working will greatly benefit applicants.

The role is largely internally focussed, but reporting to funders and maintaining relationships with them is also vital to the role, and you’ll be monitoring recording systems and directing data collection to better capture the work and its impacts for clients. With multiple projects to oversee you’ll need to be organised and analytical, but you’ll have the systems and resources you need to do this effectively.

Position has been readvertised following a review of staff salaries. Previous applicants need not apply.
