East Sussex Credit Union is a local savings and loans cooperative supporting financially excluded people across the county.

If you have an accountancy/finance qualification, and/or relevant experience, this will be an exciting opportunity for you to join a busy friendly office in the centre of Brighton, providing financial and administrative back office support to our busy team of volunteers and staff. This will include reconciliations, checking payments, cash recording and banking activities.

You will report directly to our Finance Manager, and as part of your job you will be expected to train and supervise volunteers in finance related activities. The working pattern is initially expected to be 6 hours on Monday and Wednesday plus one other morning or afternoon to be agreed Occasional Friday afternoons may be required. Based in Brighton, to 31 March 2011.

Short Term Contract, 1st November 2010 to 31st March 2011, some limited weekend hours.

The Brighton Half Marathon attracts over 8,000 runners each year. The event is the major fundraiser for The Sussex Beacon, a clinical care centre for men and women living with HIV.

Our Volunteer Co-ordinator, based at the Sussex Beacon, is a key member of the Half Marathon team. You will be experienced in working with and organising volunteers, and ideally have experience of working as part of a team for a large event. There is an established core of volunteers, but we need to recruit a further 100 or so to make up a full complement of 250. You will be working on the weekend of the event 19/20th February, and after the event managing volunteer acknowledgement and feedback.

Rhythmix is one of the UK’s leading music Charities, delivering a large range of music making opportunities for young people across the South East region. Since 1999, Rhythmix has worked with more than 40,000 young people, enabling their creativity through music and developing their personal and social skills. Working with a team of over 50 professional community musicians, Rhythmix is continually developing innovative and exciting new programmes that challenge young people to express their creativity.

Rhythmix manages and delivers the Youth Music Action Zone for the South East region and the West Regional Coordinator will develop and oversee the delivery of the Rhythmix programme in the West Area (Surrey, West Sussex and SW London area) in line with Rhythmix and Local Authority priorities.

We are looking for an experienced individual who has a grasp of the non-formal and community music sector and suitable initiative and vision to drive forward the management and development of the West Region.

You will have experience of:-
• project managing community/ arts or music projects
• liaising with multiple partners to deliver workshops programmes
• identifying and applying for funding
• monitoring, reporting and evaluation
• developing sustainable projects

First Base Day Centre was established to meet the immediate needs of single people who are homeless or inadequately housed.

In conjunction with the Operational Manager and the Catering Coordinator the post holder will be responsible for ensuring the provision of 90 meals each day we are open and occasionally assisting with co-coordinating external buffets.

The post holder will develop and maintain work relationships with clients, aiming to work with them as part of the Catering Training Project.

In conjunction with the Day Centre Operational Manager, Deputy Manager and all other Day Centre staff, the post holder will be responsible for the day-to-day running of the Day Centre.

Although the post holder will work closely with other members of staff, she/he will need to be able to organise work autonomously, in particular in her/his own specialist role.
