The Inspire Project

Inspire is a women’s voluntary sector partnership project in Brighton and Hove led by Brighton Women’s Centre working with Brighton Oasis Project, Threshold BHT, Rise and Survivors Network. We are working in partnership to deliver the recommendations of The Corston Report (2007) as part of the first national, strategic effort to transform the way women are treated in the criminal justice system. Inspire supports women offenders and women at risk of offending by working to address the underlying causes of their offending behaviour.

Inspire Senior Practitioner (35 hours per week)
Salary Scale - SCP 29 - 33

We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced female Senior Practitioner who will be responsible for the day-to-day operation of The Inspire Project, in line with Inspires’ policies, statutory requirements, operational delivery plan and budgets. She will work with the Operational Manager in ensuring that services are delivered to a very high standard, that service targets and operational plans, budgetary and monitoring requirements of funders and partner agencies are met. She will supervise staff, sessional workers and volunteers. She will oversee case management and allocations as well as advising on complex cases and holding a caseload as required.
The right candidate will have significant experience of working with a range of complex and inter-related social exclusion issues as well as an understanding and awareness of equalities issues in relation to women. Knowledge and experience of the criminal justice system and partnership working is essential.

The post is fixed term until March 2013.

Brunswick Older People’s Project provides a range of centre and community based services and activities for people age 60+. As part of this the Café at St John’s Centre provides a range of home cooked meals and snacks for up to 40 people a day in a busy open plan kitchen.
