Our car park

Community Base has a car park with an entrance in North Road that is open seven days a week from 7am to 11pm.

Spaces in the car park are let to participant groups for the use of staff or volunteers (not clients or visitors) who need to park at Community Base to carry out their work. Parking spaces are sometimes also let to outside organisations.

Groups parking vehicles in our car park must sign an agreement and pay to do so. Participant groups that do not pay to use the car park may use the car park exceptionally to load or unload or outside reception hours at the discretion of our receptionist. Anyone bringing a vehicle into our car park must give our receptionist the registration number of the vehicle.

The car park gate is opened by putting an access card programmed to work the car park reader (only drivers of cars parking in the car par do) through one of the access card readers - one is inside the car park to the right of the gate and the other is on left of the sloping entrance to the car park from North Road.

To be able to open the car park gate with an access card, the green toggle under the gate mechanism at the side of the car park gate must be down and the red toggle up. The gate can only be opened manually when the red toggle is pulled down and the green toggle is up.

The grille at the entrance to the car park has been damaged a number of times recently and we ask car park users to take great care not to risk damaging the grille or any other part of the car park. Anyone found to have damaged the grille or any other property belonging to Community Base inh the car park without reporting this damage immediately to Community Base staff will have their right to use the car park terminated immediately and may face criminal prosecution.

The car park is not accessible by larger vehicles. All vehicles must park inside the white lines defining our parking spaces - the parking spaces along the east (Brighthelm) side of the car park are shorter than the other spaces and may not be suitable for larger vehicle.

There is a phone in the car park for use by anyone who gets locked in the car park. If you use the car park you should know the entry code for the door between the car park and the main building which you can get from our receptionist.

If you are interested in using the car park ask the director for details.
