Welcome to Community Base
Community Base is a charity providing a home for community and voluntary groups in Brighton and Hove. We use income from affordable rent and services, including use of our South Wing meeting rooms, to repay a mortgage on our accessible seven floor building a few minutes from Brighton station and meet our running costs. You can view a short film about Community Base here.
A multicultural community centre
Community Base is a truly multicultural community centre, providing a home to groups offering real help to local black and minority ethnic communities alongside groups providing services to the wider community. Our annual poster guide to community services in Brighton and Hove is available in twelve languages other than English to help non-English speakers get help when they need it.
Real help for real people
The friendly, supportive environment provided by Community Base helps a wide range of not-for-profit, non-governmental organisations work together, share their expertise and provide much needed services to the local community. Thousands of people get real help from groups at Community Base every year.
